It’s been a labour of love perfecting this formula and i’m pleased to announce that my all new Twisted Buttercreme is now available to order! Available sizes – 100ml (200ml coming soon).
This pH balanced styling creme is great for adding light hold to styles including braid-outs, twist-outs etc, to help give great definition that lasts whilst moisturising and smoothing your strands. Will help to keep braided styles neater for longer and is great for smoothing edges for a neater finish to your styles. To learn more about it and order yours click here.
I personally use this after i’ve finished washing my hair and after applying the Leave-In Conditioner. I smooth it onto my hair rubbing it in really well and then braid or twist and let it air-dry. When it’s dry, i take it out and style it. It keeps my twist/braid-outs well defined for much longer. I find that a light misting of spritz re-activates the creme so i don’t really need to apply much more for another hairstyle after the initial application. I also use it to slick my edges down when i’m going for a sleeker look. I find it works really well for me in this area too, without leaving my hair crunchy and flaky.
I also use it on my daughters hair to keep her cornrows or braided styles neater. I find that using this allows her hair to ‘keep’ much better so that at the end of the week her hair is not looking too crazy. lol
It’s a great new addition to the Dia’s – All Natural (up and coming) range. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Here is a breakdown of the ingredients used:
Deionised Water – (not much explaining here). It’s water that’s been deionised to make it purer.
Shea Butter – An effective emollient that moisturises and helps improve hairs elasticity. Soothes, Hydrates, balances and revitalises hair and scalp, giving a radiant shine and a luxurious healthy appearance. Rich in vitamins A and E, Shea butter soothes dryness, minimises breakage and protects hair from weather damage caused by wind, humidity, and extreme dryness.
BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulphate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol) – A highly effective yet mild cationic self-emulsifying wax with outstanding conditioning properties. Provides excellent wet hair comb-through and detangling and leaves a soft, powdery after-feel. Ideal for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Castor Seed Oil – Very rich in ricinoleic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid and other fatty acids which possesses anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and is ideal for irritated skin conditions. Has a high fat content and is absorbed slowly by the body. Used to soothe and moisturise dry skin and hair. Helps maintain moisture levels and alleviate irritated scalp conditions. Imparts a natural glossy sheen. Naturally draws out dirt to help maintain a clean, healthy scalp.
Coconut Oil – The molecular structure of coconut oil makes it easier to penetrate through the hair shaft and works with the natural hair proteins. Helps to condition, moisturise & strengthen hair and reduces damage to the hair cuticle during combing. Also used to treat conditions like dry scalp or fungal conditions like seborrhoeic dermatitis that cause itchy flakes.
Glycerine (Veg) – A humectant extracted from coconut. Moisturises by drawing water from the air (or in the product) into the skin and hair. Provides a smooth, silky feeling and adds gloss.
Panthenol – Pro-vitamin B5. Penetrates deep into the skin and hair shaft and has excellent water-binding abilities. It creates a protective film aiding moisture retention. Helps strengthen the hair by imparting an elastic film inside and out, which also helps thicken the hair and leaves it feeling soft, silky and easy to handle.
Jojoba Oil – Very similar to the scalp’s sebum and works well with all hair types. Has many therapeutic properties including the ability to protect moisture loss, protect hair health and improve the condition of damaged hair.
Avocado Oil – Rich in nutrients, amino acids, and essential fatty acids, vitamins A, B, D, and E. Excellent for enhancing hair health. Nourishes the hair follicles and the scalp promoting the growth of new hair cells. Has natural humectant properties, adding and locking in moisture. Gives hair a glossy shine and silky texture and is particularly useful for dry, damaged and chemically treated hair.
Essential Oils – Makes it smell pretty and adds their own benefits.
Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Chlorphenesin – Broad spectrum Parabens-free and Formaldehyde-free preservation system. Active against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, yeasts and moulds.
d-Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E) – A powerful anti-oxidant, protecting the skin, hair and scalp from harmful free radicals. Penetrates deep into the cells, helps activate cell proliferation, helps promote wound healing and may reduce UV-induced damage. A powerful moisturiser.
Citric Acid – pH adjuster. Brings the pH of the product down to a more suitable level for optimum skin, scalp & hair heath.
Hydrolysed Wheat Protein – Provides excellent film forming properties and can absorb up to twice its weight of water. Is ideal for retaining water levels and moisturising the skin and hair. Helps strengthen the skin and hair and repairs damage. Porosity of the hair is reduced leaving it feeling smoother and softer and improves shine and lustre.
Guar Conditioning Gum – Derived from guar gum. Softens and conditions whilst forming a protective barrier to help control flyaway and frizzy hair.
Cellulose Gum – Derived from plant fibres. Makes a fully clear, transparent and stable Gel. Adds hold.
This is excellent Nads. Looking forward to trying it out. Let me know when the leave in conditioner is ready (as discussed).
Will do Nikki

I am going to try some of the tips given by u, (and by the way, you hair looks fantastic!) and affrims my believe that it is possible to have beautiful long black hair.
